Nissan Pathfinder in Silver

Spotlight on the Nissan Navara Pathfinder’s Unique Features

As it’s a good time of year for family holidays, Mark took our 7 seater Nissan Pathfinder ST-L out for a drive to stretch its legs, snap a few shots and a put together a quick video:

“I particularly wanted to explore the Pathfinder as it has some unique features that make it really stand out amongst other 7 seat SUVs. The first, EZ Flex seats, is a clever approach to folding seats that seems to smart and effortless that you wonder why it’s not on every vehicle, while the second, a simple extra tether anchor, adds some extra functionality that really opens the door to more seating configurations for safer family road trips.”

Read on to see why the Pathfinder is different to every other 7 seater on the market!

Most 7 seaters have a middle row that tilts and slides, but the leather seats in this Pathfinder ST-L fold in a very clever way that allows unrivalled rear access. Check out the photos to see what we mean, or see a demonstration in the video within this post.

Picture this scenario.

Let’s say you’re like me and want a 7 seater vehicle specifically because you have a partner, two children, and occasionally you want to be able to travel with other family members or friends on road trips or even just to a restaurant in one car, so:

  • Two parents upfront
  • Two kids in child car seats
  • One or two adult passengers

If your two children are still in child car seats, despite having a 7 seater you’re limited to securing those child seats in the middle row – left and right side – as those seats are the only ones with a tether anchor on the back of them.

If you pick up even just one extra passenger, they have to clamber past those seats and sit in the middle, or – to fold the seats forward and put them in the rear row – you’ll need to remove one of your child seats completely in order to allow them access. Any parent who’s had to wrestle straps on a cumbersome child seat will know what a pain that is! Plus if they were now in the back row, their exit is going to be hampered when you have to re-secure the child seat in front of them… behind two noisey children and separated from the sophisticated conversation that’s no doubt taking place in the front of the vehicle!

That’s where the Pathfinder is pretty special. Not only are the EZ Flex seats incredibly accessible as previously mentioned, but the rear row of seats also features a tether anchor (very rear, right-hand seat). This simple addition opens up a whole new seat configuration.

You can now have one child car seat ‘permanently’ fixed in the middle left side, while your second child seat can be installed in the very rear row. Two adult passengers can sit in the middle row without ever having to uninstall-and-reinstall (or climb over) a child seat. All thanks to one tether point, yet there are very few other 7 seaters that have this feature, and only the Pathfinder as EZ Flex seats.

Suddenly your 7 seater is capable of so much more than the rest of the pack.
